Donald F. Childs,

Donald Fred Childs, Jr., Royce City, Texas died December 26, 2008 at the age of 62. He was born in Springfield, Vermont on March 16, 1946 the son of Dorothy Farnsworth Barrows and Donald F. Childs, Sr. He retired from IBM, Kingston, NY after 30 years of service. He resided in Margaretville, NY until 1995 when he and his family moved to Mesquite, TX. He then worked as a private investigator for 10 years until his retirement last year. Mr. Childs was an avid NASCAR fan, hunter and golfer. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and step-dad. Warren Barrows. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Denise B. Childs and six children: Stepson and daughter-in-law, Scott and Kelli George of Gainesville, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Jacky Childs of Poland, ME; stepson and daughter-in-law, Dean and Rita George of Corpus Christi, TX; son and daughter, Mark and Sara Childs of Raymond, Maine; daughter Dianna Childs of Richardson, TX and son, Donald P. Childs of Royce City, TX. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Barrows of Springfield, VT; Warren Childs of Wallkill, NY, a sister, Marie Earle of Camillius, NY along with nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at New Hope Funeral Home on Monday, December 29 from 6pm-8pm. Services will be held on Monday, December 29th at 7:30pm at the funeral home.
