Dolores Marie McKnight
May 27, 1938 - August 5, 2024
Dolores "Dee" McKnight (Blackburn) was born May 27, 1938, near Evansville, IN. In the early 1950's her family moved to Dayton, Ohio. It was here she would meet her husband, Marion "Mac" McKnight. They were married in Dayton on November 15, 1958. It was in Ohio Dee and Mac raised their three children, Tom, Tim, and Tamra.
During the 1970s Dolores developed a successful career in sales with Sarah Coventry Jewelry where she won many awards and special trips for her and Mac. She was a long-term member at Christian Tabernacle and loved raising her family as part of a larger church community.
In 1982 they moved to Texas where Dolores was a long-time resident of Mesquite, TX. She worked at SMU school of Law. Mac and Dee were members for over three decades at Lakeside Baptist Church in Dallas, TX (now Lake Point Church East Dallas).
She is proceeded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Marion McKnight; her mother and father, Okal (McKinnes) Blackburn and Archie Blackburn; brother, Donald Blackburn; sister, Dorothy Hall; and two grandchildren, Whitney and Taylor McKnight.
Dolores loved her family. She leaves behind three children; two daughters-in-law, and one son-in-law; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren (two more on the way!)
Dolores's favorite hymn was Great Is They Faithfulness taken from her favorite Bible verses in Lamentation 3:21-24.
"But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him."
