Diep Quang Nguyen

Mr. Diep Quang Nguyen, 87, beloved and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at home in Rockwall, Texas on January 10, 2016 after a valiant, prolonged battle against stroke. Mr. Nguyen was born in Cholon, South Vietnam on December 30, 1929. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dinh K. Vo, four daughters, Patty Phuong H. Luu, Mai P. Nguyen, Thao P. Nguyen, and Yung P. Nguyen, three sons-in-law, Vinh Son Luu, Pablo Giordano, and Giao Q. Nguyen, and three grandsons, Kenny V. K. Luu, Sean A. Nguyen, and Sebastian A. Giordano. Mr. Nguyen had assumed leadership early in life as a highly respected Eagle Scout. A self-made man blessed with dashing looks and brilliant intellect, armed with ambitious aspirations and ardent passion, he enjoyed successful careers as Chief Accounting Officer and Manager of Tran Van Ai Pharmaceutical Laboratory, then Director and Vice President of Vietnam Imported Car Dealership. With his wife’s full support, he conquered hardship to ensure college and professional school training for all his daughters. Most remarkable among his multiple talents are writing, story telling, and photography. Over the years, he took pleasure in martial arts and bodybuilding, playing mandolin and singing, koi breeding and water gardening. A celebration of his inspiring life will be held at New Hope Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 500 E Hwy 80, Sunnyvale, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 23. His family requests the honored presence of relatives and friends in a subsequent gathering at Dong Que Restaurant, 3555 W Walnut St, Garland, at 4:00 p.m. the same day. Funeral service will be held at New Hope Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens at 11:00 am Monday, January 25, immediately followed by cremation at Heritage Crematory, 8002-8098 Scyene Rd, at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of donations, please visit Mr. Diep Q.
