Diane Louise Melofsky returned to her heavenly home on February 23, 2015. She was 64. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her and gave her peace. Diane was born to the late Robert and Rosemary Scheck, in Denver, Colorado, on July 18, 1950. She was immersed in the Christian community which would be her lifelong support from an early age. Diane was blessed with a large and loving family. She is one of nine children, siblings whom she loved dearly. Although Diane was employed in various ways throughout her life, she was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Diane’s smile was contagious, and her unique sense of humor inspired happiness and laughter in others. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator. Diane is survived by her sons Jason and Robert; her grandchildren Christian, Jenna, and Alexia; her brothers Robert (Bob), Roy, and Ronald (Ron); and her sisters, Cathy Karlin, Mary Wright, Janice Deeds, Nancy Lichtenauer, and Elizabeth (Liz) Schmeidler. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Melofsky, and her parents. Diane will be buried with her husband Albert at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. on March 3, with a service prior to the burial at 12:00 noon to be held at the New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas. Pastor Michael Hankins from the Church in the City, Rowlett, Texas, will officiate the service. Donations to the American Cancer Society in her memory are welcome in lieu of flowers.
