Dewey Wayne Malcom a painter from Dallas, TX passed on Tuesday December 15, 2020 at 72 years old. Dewey is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Eddy & Laqueisha Malcom; grandchildren: Drake, Deiondre, Macie & Kane Malcom; sisters: Pearl Cirkles & Debra Cairy and a host of nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death parents; siblings: Charlie Malcom, Martha Mae Rogers, Charlene Carrol, Johnny Malcom, Bill Malcom and Jay Malcom.
He was born to James Nathan & Willie Mae (Sparks) Malcom in Athens, TX on September 4, 1948. He attended High School in Athens and was later drafted into the Army in 1968. He was deployed to Vietnam and served through 1970, earning three Purple Hearts and numerous other medals. Following his services he married Mary Elisha Herron July 27, 1972, out of that union they had Eddy Malcom. More than anything Dewey loved family, most of all his grandchildren. He looked forward to watching them play Baseball and Volleyball. He also appreciated the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Visitation for Dewey is 5-7 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2020 at New Hope Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 21, 2020 at New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, TX with burial following in Willow Springs Cemetery, Malakoff, TX at 1:00 p.m.
