Dennie McClure born March 27, 1940 passed away on April 25, 2012. Dennis was preceded in death by parents: Father, William Dave "Pete" McClure; mother, Kathryn Carter McClure; and step-mother, Edith Petty McClure and Step Brother, Gary Petty. He is survived by Children: Son Wes and wife Dena of Mesquite; Daughter Leslie Watson of Ft Worth; and son Mark and wife Rachel of Crowley; Grandchildren: Tiffany, Samantha, and Reuben Watson; Heath and Cameron McClure; Madya McClure; Great Grandchild: Lilly Watson; Brothers: David and wife Ruth of Bonham; Pat and wife Patty of Bloomington, Ill.; Mike and wife Linda of Tyler; Sister: Beth Emfinger and husband Roy of Midland; Other: Uncle Curtis McClure and wife Marie of McKinney; Aunt Anne Herriage of Lawton, OK; and Uncle J. Frank of Charleston, S.C.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dennis never met a stranger and never forgot anyone. He maintained friends from high school, church, work, and his neighborhood throughout his life. He was always willing to help people and loved projects of any type. He was many things to many people. He was born in Lamesa and grew up on his father's cotton farm at Key Community. He graduated from Lamesa High School in 1958. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated Class of '62. He moved to Ft Worth in 1965 where he began a career with the City of Ft Worth Health Dept. where he worked until his retirement in 1992. He worked many years as a handyman. He was a certified Master Gardener. He loved reading American history. He donated over 13 gallons of blood to Carter Blood bank. He volunteered many hours to Manna House in Bonham and Sharing Life in Mesquite. Dennis loved the Lord Jesus and His people through the local church. He was baptized at Key Baptist Church, Key, TX and served many years at Haltom Road Baptist Church in Haltom City, Calvary Baptist Church in Bonham, and First Baptist Church of Sunnyvale. He taught pre-school Sunday School for 25 years+ and participated in many children's activities. He participated in disaster recovery ministry with the Texas Baptist Men including tornadoes at Balmorhea, TX and Oklahoma City. He was a deacon. Dennis loved his children and grandchildren and was proud of all of them. He was a great source of encouragement and could always be relied on to help work through a challenge. Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 28th 9:00AM - 10:00AM at Sunnyvale First Baptist Church, 3018 N. Beltline Rd., Sunnyvale, TX with funeral services following at 10:00AM.
