Dennis I.J. Floyd of Mesquite, born November 28, 1933 in Dallas, TXto Ike and Josephine Floyd passed away late Tuesday evening of congestive heart failure while hospitalized.He was the 2nd eldest of six children; June Hackler of Mesquite (deceased), Barbara Odem of Dallas(deceased), Linda Barclay of Austin, TX, Carolyn Floyd of Dallas, TX, Laura Petri of Tyler, TX and Brenda Beard of Denver, CO. Dennis married Lillian Sincleair on March 30, 1951 and had five children Denice Bowers of Mesquite, TX, Becky Horton of Bryan, TX, Dennis Jr (deceased), Chris Floyd of Mesquite and Donnie Floyd of Frisco. He had eighteen grandchildren Chad Molock, James Molock, Amy Martin (Trey), Missy (deceased), Kelly Marie, Jerri, Jodi (Russell), Alicia (William), Josh, Jeremy, Jason, Zach, Rachel, Josh, Lauren, Brandon, Trevor and Drew. He is survived by sixteen great grandchildren Valerie, Alison, Katie, Stormy, Amber, Daniel, Alyssa, Samantha, Tyler, Taylor, David, Arial, Alyssia, Aubry, Baylee and Hayden and fifty one nieces and nephews. Dennis had 11 brother and sister in laws Flake Sincleair Jr (deceased),Patsy Wimes (Jonnie) of Killeen, TX, Jeanne Martell (Jack)of Donna, TX, James Edward Sincleair(deceased), Donna Barham (Don) Quinlin, TX, Steve Sincleair (Irene) of St Cloud, MN, Theresa Smith of Irving, TX, Mike Sincleair (Pat) of Dallas, TX, Bill Sincleair (Mary) of Mansfield, TX, Kay Espinosa (Henry) of Dallas, TX and Margaret Nation (Jay) of Mesquite, TX. Dennis was very involved as a Mason for many years in the Fruitdale Lodge and the Roy Stanley Chapter 1086. He was also a skilled carpenter and remodeler. In his later years he enjoyed raising pheasants, cooking and watching football. He also enjoyed his dachshunds Bebe, Franz, Willie and Jr. who will miss him greatly. Dennis was a source of joy to all that knew him. Anytime that you visited him, he was upbeat with a vibrant sense of humor, never one to complain. He was well loved and will be missed by all. He joins Lillian, his wife of 54 years, in eternity after having lost her to cancer only 7 weeks ago. Viewing will be held at 3 P.M. followed by the service at 4 P.M. on Saturday, August 6, 2005 at New Hope Funeral Home.
