"Papaw's Poem" (No Good-bye's) By Tiffany LaShelle Watson, written for and in memory of Papaw, February 23, 2005 I sat down to write a poem But it wasn't coming out, About a man we all love dearly, And will miss without a doubt... A man so strong at heart, Yet gentle to the touch; Family was his priority, For he loved us all so much... He lived his life happily, In a family full of love, But the Lord has called him on now To his heavenly home above... So as we gather here today, Tears falling from our eyes... Remember if you know the Lord, There are no last Good-byes... For I know he's there awaiting us, With angels by his side... Enjoying his eternal life, wearing his wings with pride So as the sorrows overcome us, the pains of being apart... Know that we will meet again If Jesus has our hearts.
