Deloris Schindler

Deloris Kathleen Schindler born December 18, 1934 to Gerald and Georgia Crew in St. Joseph, Missouri went home to be with our heavenly Father on Saturday, April 21st. Deloris married Calvin William (Bill) Schindler on March 25, 1951 and they recently celebrated 61 years together. They spent time in California, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas and together had four children, 2 girls and 2 boys. Deloris' life was family-centered and her greatest joy was being a mother and homemaker. For approximately 40 years they have lived in Forney, TX where they currently own Schindler Floors and have actively supported the community through many organizations. Deloris fought a courageous and gracious battle with breast and brain cancer over the past 2 years. She is survived by a loving husband, Calvin William (Bill) Schindler, and three living children, Lon W. and wife Marilyn, Shane L., and Karla Wilson and husband Pat. She is preceded in death by her daughter Dara Miller (1952-2004) who was married to David Miller. She is survived by 2 half sisters and 4 half brothers. Deloris is survived by 8 grandchildren: David C. Miller and wife Tammy, Christy Thomas and husband, Chris, Ryan Schindler, Jadi Schreier, J.Matt Schindler and wife Noemi, Ben Thornhill, Brooks Wilson and Bailey Wilson. She is survived by 9 great grandchildren. Please join the family and friends for services. Viewing will be at New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale on Tuesday evening, April 24th, 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, April 25th, 10:00am, at the First United Methodist Church in Forney. Pallbearers are David C. Miller, Chris Thomas, Ryan Schindler, J.Matt Schindler, Ben Thornhill and Brooks Wilson. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. The family has requested donations to the First United Methodist Church Youth Ministry or Forney Food Pantry in lieu of flowers.
