Delma Lee Maine Jr.

April 26, 1951 — February 14, 2025

Delma Lee Maine, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and devoted servant of God, passed away on February 14, 2025, in Dallas, TX, at 73. He was born on April 26, 1951, in Monroe, LA, to the late Birtha Ann Maine and Delma Maine, Sr.

A proud graduate of Grambling State University, he had a respected career in accounting within the oil and gas industry, known for his precision, analytical skills, and leadership. Delma valued education and lifelong learning. A man of deep faith, he served as a Deacon at Christ First Generation Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Daryl Broughton and First Lady Debra Broughton. Through his commitment to his church, generosity toward others, and steadfast support of his family, friends and community, he demonstrated his heart for service in every aspect of his life.

Delma cherished the simple joys of everyday life. He had a passion for gardening, nurturing the earth and those around him with patience and care. He also loved fishing, finding peace in reflection by the water. Music was a constant in his life, filling his days with rhythm, joy, and, when the moment was right, inspiring him to dance whether anyone was watching or not. Above all, he was a wise, open-minded knowledge-seeker who sincerely appreciated personal growth and evolution. His lively spirit and unwavering faith left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

From his union with Diane Drummer Maine, he was blessed with two loving children, Michael B. Maine (Meera) and Jessica D. Maine (Will), who carry forward his legacy of integrity, compassion, and a heart for service. He also leaves behind his cherished grandson, Michael Gauthier III and bonus granddaughter Kaylee Jackson. He is survived by his dear sister, Lessie B. Maine Washington Jamerson (Billy Ray), a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and beloved church members who loved and admired him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sisters, Essie B. Maine, Verdia Maine Taylor, and Betty Maine Ormon.

Delma's life was a testament to faith, love, and service. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of integrity, devotion, and selfless giving will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.

His life will be celebrated at New Hope Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM.

May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his loved ones and in the presence of the Lord he so faithfully served.
