Del was born in Aurora, Colorado to Nathan and Araby Worth. He is survived by his wife Theresa Dianne Worth and children; Mark Clinton Worth and Amanda Michelle Worth. Also survived by his brother Keith Douglas Worth. He had a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern State University and was employed by the City of Dallas, Public Works and Transportation Department. Del loved television and he loved movies. His favorite movies were Casa Blanca and The Sound of Music. His favorite actor was John Wayne. He had a collection of movies, most of them John Wayne's movies. He watched the same movies over and over, many times he could recite the lines as they were being spoken on the screen he had seen them so much.I remember the kids remarking on the fact that he was watching the Sound of Music, again! He was also a big sports fan.He kept up with the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and LSU Tigers. Special themes for service: Del was always proud of his Native American heritage.Del's mother was full blood Penobscot Indian and he talked about that a lot.He always planned to take a trip and visit the area in Maine where his grandfather grew up, where the Penobscot tribes lived, but sadly never got to make that trip.He was also proud to have been in the United State Navy and to have served his country at a time when others were unwilling to do so.He joined the Navy when he was a senior in high school, went for training during his Christmas break that year, and then upon graduation completed his training and was assigned to the aircraft carrier, USS Bon Homme Richard. He talked many times of his experiences while in the Navy.He always said he should have stayed in the Navy.He felt a strong connection to the military, having grown up partially on military bases, because of his fathers military career in the Air Force. He enjoyed talking to other veterans about their experiences, watching war movies, and reading books related to war times. He happened to be reading the book, Patton, when he and his wife got their first pet, a kitten. He made the comment that the kitten walked across the floor like he was taking over the place, like Patton in the war. That kitten was named General Patton by Del. The family would like to thank all the medical personnel that cared for Del during the last 6 months of his life. It was a difficult struggle the last few months, but Del received excellent care at each facility he was in.We would like to thank the personnel at Willow Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation for their care while he was a resident there. We also wish to thank the Dallas VA medical center for their care since 1979 when Del was diagnosed with a brain tumor.Had it not been for the excellent care he received at that time, as well as all the follow up care, Del would not have survived and been able to lead his life to the fullest.
