BROWNING, Deborah Kay of Mesquite, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 5, 2006, peacefully at home with her family at her side after a courageous battle with lung cancer and MS. Born January 26, 1953 in Oak Cliff, Texas to J. T. and Freta Van Meter.She graduated from Sunset High School in 1970.Debbie moved to Mesquite, Texas in the late 1970's.She pursued a career as a paralegal in litigation law.Though she worked for many firms over the years, she would end her career with Thompson and Knight, L.L.P. in 2000. Debbie's greatest joy in life was the love for our Lord and her family and grandchildren.She earned the title of "World's Greatest Nana", hands down. Preceded in death by her father, James T. Van Meter.Survived by her mother, Freta D. Van Meter of Mesquite, TX.; husband, James E. Browning of Mesquite, TX.; his two sons, Strider Browning, granddaughter, Kylie of Gun Barrell, TX.; Steve Browning and wife, Lori; granddaughters, Makayla and Chloe of Crandall, TX.; her only daughter, Tara Scarber and husband, James, grandchildren Colleen and Corbin of Mesquite, TX.; brother, Gary D. Van Meter and wife, Philomena of Mesquite, TX.; nephew, Erik L. Van Meter and family of Forney, TX.; niece, Jessica D. Perkins and family of Allen, TX.; and many extended family and friends. Memorial service will be 10:30AM Tuesday July 11, 2006 at New Hope Funeral Home.
