David Ward

David Henry Ward, age 77, passed away on August 10, 2023, in Dallas, Texas.

David graduated Mount Pleasant High School in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.  He began his career in law enforcement serving as a police officer and also as a volunteer firefighter in Mount Pleasant.  It was during this time he developed and started the EMS system in the Mount Pleasant area.  David later pursued a career in nursing and went on to practice a craft he loved in medicine, working as a Physician Assistant in the emergency room.

His other hobbies included jeeping, hiking, Ham radio operation, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his strong faith and love for Jesus Christ.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Winston and Melba Ward; brother, Waylon Ward; and sister, Glenda Hayes.

David is survived by his wife, Marie Ward; daughters, Robyn Ward and husband Sean Roberts,  Toni Richey and husband Jim, Mikki Ward and boyfriend Dean Jasper; stepchildren, Lee Elliot and wife Brenda, Mark Elliot and wife Jeanie, Darla Stokes and husband Al, Paula Jenkins and husband Rodney; grandchildren, Jacob Huynh, Zachry Huynh, Tristan Locke, Jamey Richey, Fate and Micheal Olson, Shannon Elliott, Lindsay Elliott, Blake and Katie Elliott, Aaron and Heather Stokes, Brandi and Phillip Stokes Quinney, Jase Jenkins, Makenzie Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Olivia Rose Pink, Brooks and Pierce Elliott, Harleigh Quinney, and Dwin and Kaylyn Stokes.

The funeral service for Mr. David Ward will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Fellowship Forney Church located at 417 Pinson road Forney, Texas 75126.

Internment will be at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 220 US 67 in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
