David Steven Miller

David Steven Miller, born November 24, 1948, passed from this life on August 23, 2011. Known to one and all as "Steve"--- nobody, except telemarketers, called him David (that was a sure way to get hung-up on was to ask for "David"). He was the son of Omer Pierce Miller (who has preceded him in death) and Joyce Miller. He is survived by three siblings, brother Omer (OE) Miller and his wife Kay, sister Brenda MillerPerkins-- and her love Buddy, and brother Curtis Miller and his wife Linda, two children, daughter Shellie Miller, and sonJacob Miller and his love Dana,many nieces and nephews, all who will miss "Uncle Steve", and two grandsons, Austin Miller and Jadan Miller-- who ,sadly, will never get to know "Pops" andthe joy, the fun, and thehappiness with him. As his older brother, the memories I will always carry are memories filled with laughter, fun, tricks, jokes, and, yes, even some mischief. I am constantly reminded of him because of the large number of gifts that he has given me. He called them "prizes". He'd see me and say, "Hey, man, I've got a special prize for you." and then he would give me a knife, or a tool set, or a glasses holder, or a set of screwdrivers, or agolf ball cleaner, or on-and-on-and on.......... I've got a house FULL of stuff from him and now they become even more precious! There's not enough room to print all the stories I have of the two of us, but I assure you, they will always remain with me. In fact, HE will remain with me. Service will be 10:00AM Saturday August 27, 2011 at Family Cathedral of Praise, 790 Windbell Circle, Mesquite, TX. 75149. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00PM - 8:00PM.
