David T. Lewis

October 25, 1952 — August 16, 2009

LEWIS, David Thorn of Garland, born to William Kelly Lewis and Annell Thorn Lewis on October 25, 1952, in Marshall, TX. He was a long-time resident of Temple, TX. David left on Sunday August 16, 2009, without saying goodbye - that part saddens us but we understand his wanting to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of The Rock Church. As son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend, David will be remembered as an active listener who genuinely understood the joy, sadness, or mundaneness of life of those talking with him. David was keenly aware of Gods redeeming grace, mercy and love through his sketches of Jesus; which he gifted to many people. David had been a radiology technician for over 20 years at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, TX. He enjoyed fishing, sports and singing hymns. He is survived by his mother, Annell Thorn Lewis; son, Kelly Thorn Lewis; brother, William Kelly Dub Lewis, Jr. and sister-in-love, Jan Lewis; niece, Kerri Lewis Paredes, her husband Tino with their children, Kyler and Kennedy; two aunts, an uncle and numerous cousins. Service will be 11:00AM Wednesday August 26, 2009 at New Hope Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00PM " 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Dub Lewis Missions Evangelist, 612 Via Miramonte, Mesquite, TX. 75150.
