A Brief look at the life Rev Darrell Parker Rev. Darrell Wayne Parker was born on February 18,1965, son of the late Willie Parker Jr. and Betty Stewart. He came from a large blended family with many brothers and sister. On December 13, 2019 God called him home to be with him in heaven, he gave him fifty-four good years. He was preceded in death by his Father Willie Parker Jr. and his Mother Betty Jean Stewart. For more than 32 years, Rev Darrell Parker shared his live with his Loving and devoted wife, Jacqueline C. Parker, who will miss him dearly. Rev Darrell and Jacqueline Parker first meet in the Dallas Christ Gospel Church through mutual friends in 1978. They would get to see each other whenever Rev Hick would come to Dallas or they would see each other at Youth Conventions. Events that led up to their Marriage was: He moved to Dallas in the Mid 80’s to look for a job and lived with Kevin and Karen Smith. He started going to the Dallas Christ Gospel Church where he started playing the drums in the church banc with Lynn and Kevin. They all hung out over at Phil and Debbie Nichols house a lot. Jackie and Darrell, Liz, Gail and Gus all went to see Leon Patillo in concert. And Jackie and Darrell meet once again and started dating and before we knew it Darrell was asking her dad if could marry her. Jackie sent off for the Holy Ghost Witness to see if it was Pleasing to God that they got married and on August 7th 1987 at Christ Gospel church. Rev Darrell Parker was a graduate of Hebert High School class of 1983.He then went to work with his dad at Good Year for a little bit and Gyros and trucking company before he moved to Dallas. Rev Parker then began to work for Blue Line then later received a job working for Veolia Transportation. Rev Parker moved to Dallas TX in November of 1986 and propose to Jacqueline Davis and they were married in Aug of 1987. To this union was born Benjamin and Breanna Parker. Darrell became a minister under the leadership of Rev Ken Matthews and was later sent out to pastor under the leadership of Rev Don McKay Sr. in 1994. Rev Parker pastored for 8 years and the Lord saw fit to bring him back to Dallas TX. in 2008 again under the leadership of Rev Don McKay Sr. He was a family-oriented till the end, He spent his spare time socializing with family and in his leisure he enjoyed fishing, music, playing dominos and was an all-around joy to be around. Rev Parker was very studious and loved studying and sharing the Word of God with others. You could ask him almost any question and he would know the answer or he would tell you he will find out and get back to you with the answer. Under the leadership of Rev Russell Swinney Rev Parker was the adult Sunday school teacher, associate minister and an excellent bass player. He was always welling and ready to assist when and where ever he was need. He will be greatly missed and will leave a giant whole in our Christ Gospel Church and the many lives that he has touched along the way. Rev Darrell Parker is survived by his wife Jacqueline C Parker; Son Benjamin Gabriel Parker, Daughter Breanna Gabrielle Parker, Brothers: Rev. Willie Parker III (Joyce), Kevin Parker (Tanya), Darwin Parker (Erica) Gerald Stewart(Debra). Sisters: Roslyn Jones, Greker Redmond, Tammy Holmes(Rev Terrance), Princetta Wilcox(Jimmy) Shelley Lewis(Paul) Racheal Farney(Kenneth) Others: Sister in Laws Yolanda Inboden(Steven) and Lucretia Cooper And a Host of Nieces and Nephews
