Darrell Reid Choate

CHOATE, Darrell Reid, 82 of Mesquite, born April 18, 1928 in Delta County, passed away April 21, 2010 at Baylor Hospital. Preceded in death by parents, Helen & W. L. Mitchell and his daughter, Patricia Choate. Survived by wife of 59 ½ years, Ravanel Choate of Mesquite; son, Michael Reid Choate & wife, Twyla; grandsons, Loyd Reid Choate and Dustin Ray Choate all of Plano; granddaughters, Merissa Helen Riddle of Toronto, Canada and Debra Ann Choate of Llano, Texas; great granddaughter, Kloe BreAnn Choate of Plano. He is also survived by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law along with cousins in Texas and California. He was retired from Benjamin-Moore Paint Company and had been a member of First United Methodist Church for 48 years and was a very active member of the Votaries Sunday School Class. He loved being on the computer playing games and talking with people. He loved to travel especially on cruise ships having taken 17 cruises. The highlight of his day was having coffee at McDonalds with his buddies. Service will be 11:00AM Saturday April 24, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, 300 N. Galloway, Mesquite, TX. 75149 with burial to follow at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park, Mesquite, TX. Visitation Friday evening at New Hope from 6:00PM " 8:00PM. Pallbearers will be grandsons & nephews and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Votaries Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund at First United Methodist Church, 300 N. Galloway, Mesquite, TX 75149.
