Darlene Servillon Kleinert

October 13, 1957 — February 23, 2016

Darlene Kleinert passed away February 23rd after a sudden illness, and our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ received her to her Heavenly home. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Godofredo and Norma Servillon, and her brother. She is survived by her husband of twenty years, Christopher Kleinert; her brothers, Godofredo Jr. and Glenn; her sisters, Blessie, Belinda, Dolly, Oneida and husband Bakr; and her nieces and nephews, Christian, Nobel and Macie, Derrick, Cherrise, Janessa and Michael. Darlene was born in the Philippines and spent her childhood through nursing school there. Later she left to join her sisters in the United States to continue her nursing career. In 1993, while living in the Dallas area, Darlene met her husband Chris and in 1995 they married and became husband and wife. Darlene later left nursing to work at Chris’s side in his engineering business. She was a valuable help mate, loving wife, and a companion no matter the circumstances, as they shared in work, traveling, sports, particularly golf and their Church activities. Darlene particularly excelled at golf, where having never played until her late thirties, won several events and tournaments. Darlene and her husband attended two Churches over a period of approximately 20 years. She read her Bible each and every day, and loved the hymnals, and would hum or sing them around the house. Darlene particularly loved her family. Three of Darlene’s sisters, all nurses live in the Dallas area. Her numerous nieces and nephews were a source of joy to her. She always looked forward to the gathering of the “sisters,” where much Filipino food and talk was exchanged, and much laughter and crying over family and friends back home. Although unable to have children, Darlene approached Chris with the idea of having foster children. The Lord blessed with Raul, Kesi, and Jarred, and she care for them as if they were her own flesh and blood. Later Darlene added gardening to her activities and spent many days tending to her various plants and herbs. She was an excellent cook and mastered not only Filipino but American dishes as well. Darlene and Chris had recently observed their 20th wedding anniversary. She is already missed and mourned by husband, family and friends.
