Danny Bruce Burris

Danny Bruce Burris, 75, passed away on March 2, 2023, peacefully at his home in Forney, TX. Danny was born on, July 15, 1947, in Dallas Texas, to Marvin and Wanda Burris. Danny graduated from Mesquite High School in 1965. He went on to earn a Associate in Applied Arts and Science degree from Eastfield College in 1977. Then went on to earn Bachelor of Science and Business Management degrees from LeTourneau University in 1997. He started his career in Heating and Air Conditioning eventually starting his own company, Burris Service Company. He later, after gaining his Bachelor's degree, went on to work for Eastfield College as the Program Director in the HVAC department, he was also an instructor in the classroom.

Danny married the love of his life, Carol Burris on May 19, 1975 in Dallas, TX. The couple had 4 children, Don Burris, Pat Burris, Jan Mason, Kristin Fenstermacher. They raised their kids in Garland, TX later moving to Forney, TX. They were members of Landmark Family Fellowship Church where they were very involved as Sunday School teachers, singing in the choir and being in many church plays. Danny was best known for his love and devotion to his beautiful wife and family. He was a friend to anyone he met and was always there to lend a hand. He loved woodworking in his garage and making cute things for Carol to display in their home. If Danny was there you could always count on laughter and silliness to be had!

He was a man of God whom loved studying and teaching the scripture. Danny made sure that all 4 of his kids knew the Lord and had the opportunity to hear the word of God and ultimately accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Danny also served in the Army during the Vietnam War where he earned The Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service. Danny is survived by his wife Carol Burris, son Pat Burris, daughter Jan Mason, daughter Kristin Fenstermacher, son-in-law Jay Fenstermacher, son-in-law Bill Mason, Grandsons: Gavin Mason, Peyton Mason, Dakota Likens, Hunter Burris and Hayden Burris, Granddaughter: Amanda Burris and two great granddaughters Danny is preceded in death by son Don Burris, his parents Wanda & Marvin Burris, Brothers; Gaylon Burris & Nolon Burris. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8 ,2023, at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX from 9-10 am.

The service for Danny will be held also on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 10-11 am, at New Hope Funeral Home, 600 US Highway 80 East, Sunnyvale, Texas 75182. Burial will be immediately following, by procession to Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228 from 11:30 -12:00.
