Danny Wayne Applegate Preceded in death by his mother Geraldine Eakins Jordan and his father Harold Applegate Survived by wife of almost 11 years Linda Murray Applegate He is survived by son Eric Applegate and grandsons Jacob, Zachary and Sebastian Applegate Children by marriage include Javier Ramirez, Rosie Briones, George Cardenas, Robert Burns and Teresa Griffith. Grandchildren by marriage include Aron, Adriel and Alex Ramirez; Veronica Shroyer, Crystal and Gabriel Briones, Jimmy Leyva, Andrea Benson, Maritza Molina, Gyannaand Xavier Cardenas, Raul and River Solis; Great-grandchildren by marriage include Aliyah and Alexis Ramirez, Christian Benson, Arianna Salinas, Maricela Leyva and Isaac Briones. Danny considered all to be HIS children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; Brother Kenny Applegate of Austin; Numerous Nephews and Nieces. Danny Applegate was a very loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother to his family, extended family and a close friend to many. At the time of his death he was actively involved at Lake Pointe Church Town East in Mesquite serving the Lord as an usher, prayer warrior, many acts of service/helps, and involvement with the senior life groups and church wide senior activities, and recently Grief Share. Each Wednesday he went with a group to visit those seeking assistance at Sharing Life and attending to their prayer needs. If you look in his Bible, it is filled with names and the needs of others. Danny had the opportunity to travel to Piedras Negras for a mission trip June 2014 and he fell in love with the church team and those in Piedras Negras and was looking forward to more mission trips. He and wife Linda (the “A” Team) enjoyed serving together at church as often as they could. Even stocking the auditorium each week was an act of service and obedience to the Lord. Danny loved to impersonate Elvis and Wolfman Jack and rock and roll music of the 1950s and 60s. Having the gift of hospitality he loved to spend fun time with others. He was of a competitive nature competing in baseball, billiards, and anything he set out to conquer he did so with all his might. Danny was an “A” level pool player and loved competing with family and in tournaments. Danny was a historian of antique game and slot machines. He was an avid story teller with many true life stories he could entertain you with. Mr. Applegate retired in 2011 after working 32+ years as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service. Danny Wayne Applegate will be missed on earth by many, but he is celebrating in Heaven now!
