Danielle Marie Rivette Burkett was born on June 6, 1933 in Haiti to Salnave and Elda Rivette. She met and married Winston "Bill" George Burkett on December 21, 1955 and a few years later, relocated to the island of Jamaica. Later, the family migrated to New York City. Danielle was a life long member of the Catholic Church and attended St Clare's Catholic Church in Rosedale, NY and later, All Saints Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She participated in weekly services, and was an active member of prayer group. She prayed daily with her Rosary. Her most cherished possession was a Rosary Bless by the Pope. Danielle worked for Macy's Department Store at the headquarters and flagship store at Thirty-Fourth Street in Manhattan. This job suited her as she was a very sociable and friendly person. She could easily chat and make friends of strangers. Danielle loved to entertain. Every year she hosted holiday dinners inviting family and friend alike. These festive occasion provided her the opportunity to prepare recipes from her "Ledger", a genuine one hundred page accounting ledger in which she wrote, in french, recipes from collected since her earliest years. In retirement, Danielle and Bill moved to Fort Lauderdale. There, they enormously enjoyed the camaraderie of their retirement community, especially the dinner/dances held in co-op's club house. Danielle also loved to collect figurines. She had a lifelong collection of minature Limoges china, Royal Dulton plates, Hummel and Lladro figures. The figurines were displayed in her curio cabinet in her living room for friends and family to also enjoy. Danielle leaves behind her only remaining sibling Antoine at 94, sons Lloyd and Daniel, their wives Rachel and Patricia, grandchildren Michelle and Jeremy, her great grandsons, Aiden and Tristan, and numerous members of the Rivette and Burkett Clans. Danielle's last words to her family were, "God has given me a Blessed life. My children are doing well. I go now. My husband is waiting for me."
