Cynthia Jean Jacobs Edwards, known to her family and friends as Cindy, was a loving, free spirited, strong willed woman. She was born December 22, 1953 and died July 22, 2015. Cindy was preceded in death by her father, James Edward Jacobs. She is survived by her mother, Hazel Jacobs, husband,of25 years, Tommy Edwards, daughter, Catherine Spoon, son, Trevor Edwards, grandsons, Chance Williams and Logan Edwards. She is also survived by her siblings, Jim Jacobs and his wife Linda, Laura Delk and her husband Joe, Ruth Law and her husband Joe Don and Velma Byford and her husband Eugene, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Cindy was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. In her younger years she was a dedicated wife and homemaker to her husband and daughter, Cathie, and eventually became a teacher’s aide, a career that gave her much fulfillment and pride in her life. She went on to have numerous jobs in retail where she was in the public serving others. Cindy was a hard worker and enjoyed meeting new people and doing whatever was needed to help others. Cindy enjoyed reading, sewing, and listening to some of her favorite music and making crafts. Although her emphysema began to slow her body down, Cindy’s will was strong and she was able to spend quality time with her husband, her son, and grandsons. These boys meant the world to her and could light her up with fury but turn around and calm her down with hugs and kisses. She was a mother and friend to many of their friends as well. She was available to anyone that needed her with an open heart. We all will miss her so much. We find peace in knowing that as her grandson said, “She is finally in heaven being her daddy’s little girl again.” Family and friends will be gathering to celebrate Cindy’s life on July 30, 2015 at 1:00 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Forney.
