Craig Vernon Woods, born on June 16, 1958, in Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on December 20, 2024, in Terrell, Texas, at the age of 66. Craig was a dedicated father to his four sons: Benjamin, Dustin, Chad, and Aaron Woods. He is also survived by his sister, Michele Windle; and his brothers, Douglas Woods and Michael Ellsworth.
A retired business owner, Craig had a successful career in the automotive industry, where he poured his heart into his work and built lasting relationships within the community. He was known for his passion for racing cars, particularly enjoying this pursuit with his eldest son, Dustin. Craig's love for cars extended beyond racing; he delighted in tinkering with the countless projects he had at home, always eager to learn and experiment.
Craig's life was characterized by his strong family bonds, and he cherished the time spent with his sons, often sharing in their interests and aspirations.
His memory will be honored in a memorial service to be held at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with visitation preceding the service at 1:00 PM. The ceremony will also be live-streamed on social media, allowing friends and family to join in remembrance from near and far. Craig's spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Billie Woods and Alma Woods.
