Coy Columbus Weaver. Born in Smithville, OK on January 23, 1926. Went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2011. The loving husband of Clarice June Weaver, and the best Daddy and Papaw to his kids, grand kids, and great grand kids. He was a faithful deacon in service to the Lord at Casa View Baptist Church for over 50 years; and loved working with young people and adults. He served his Country in WWII, as an Aviation Radio Gunner, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters. After the war, he returned to complete high school in Smithville. He then went on to college in Wilburton, OK, where he met Clarice June Mickle and 4 months later they were married on January 25, 1947. Coy joined the Dallas Fire Department in 1950, and retired as a Battalion Chief in 1976; and played an important role in establishing the Fire Fighters Association, and then serving as the Secretary/Treasurer. Upon retirement from one career, Coy began a second as a realtor with Phil Ross Real Estate. Coy was the son of Robert Weaver and Ella Eslinger Weaver. 8 step-brothers and sisters. his brother, RB Weaver and sister, Naomi Weaver DiMiceli, each now deceased. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Clarice June Mickle Weaver, daughters: Sharon Sehon and husband Bob Sehon; Deborah Ballard and husband, Fred Ballard; Lora Sue Weaver; and son: Robert Bernard Weaver and wife Eileen Swanson; 5 grandchildren; and, 9 great grandchildren; brother, Noel Weaver, of New Orleans, LA, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, TX. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., service at 2 p.m. Interment immediately following at Sparkman/Hillcrest, Dallas, TX. The family would like to thank Buckner Retirement Village, Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Traymore Nursing Home, and VNA Hospice Care, for the care they ministered to Coy and family during this time.
