Connie Ann Scott Desmond passed away of pancreatic cancer on December 4, 2012. She was born on November 12, 1946. Two words best sum up her exceptional life. The first is teacher. From her days as a student in the Dallas schools, her decision to teach never wavered. She graduated from W.W. Samuell H.S. in 1965 and went on to receive her BS, Masters Ed from East Texas State Commerce. She taught for 27 years while raising her two children. The second word is proud. She was proud to be a daughter, wife, mother, gammie, Dallasite, Texan, Methodist, and a Cowboys fan. Connie is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bob; daughter, Leasa Milligan and granddaughter, Leigha; son, Derek Freeman and wife, Stephanie and granddaughter, Madeline; brother, Paul Scott and wife Ruth. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Floyd & Jan Scott. Visitation will be at New Hope Funeral Home on December 10 from 6-8. Her service will be held at Lovers Lane UMC on December 11 at 10. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the March of Dimes for research on Klippel-Feil Syndrome.
