Claudia Raymond

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Claudia Jean Raymond on November 24, 2024 at the age of 75. Claudia was a loving, caring, beautiful soul with a strong will, witty sense of humor and a boisterous laugh that lit up any room she entered and whose personality brought warmth and joy to everyone. Born in Shamrock, TX, on November 8, 1949, to Maggie "Oleta" Wilson and Samuel Templin, she was raised in Dallas, TX, where she graduated from Crozier Tech in 1968. She began working in insurance and had a great mentor, Frank Wilson, who encouraged her to become an underwriter. She worked at several Fortune 500 companies, ultimately retiring as a Senior Underwriter Specialist in the Inland Marine department of CNA.

Claudia married Sammy Raymond in May 1981. To this union, Claudia brought her two sons, Steven Lee and Jeffery Wayne, and Sammy brought his daughter, Angela Margarette, to create a wonderful family.

Claudia was preceded in death by her mother, Maggie "Oleta" Wilson, father, Sam Templin, brother, Jimmy Templin, and son, Jeffery Franks. To cherish her memory, she leaves her beloved husband of almost 44 years, Sammy Raymond; her son, Steven Franks and wife Lidia Hernandez Franks, daughter, Angela Pickens and husband George Pickens; sister Patricia Wong, brother Bobby Templin; five grandchildren, Rusty Franks, Stevee Franks, Dakota Rion, Matthew Franks and Sophie Pickens; 6 great-grandchildren and many loving relatives and friends, who will never forget the love and joy she brought to their lives.

Claudia loved hard, played hard, lived life to its fullest and always had her faith in God keeping her strong. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer a word of comfort to whoever needed it. She left this life as a family matriarch fiercely loving her husband, children and grandchildren. We mourn her loss but take comfort that she is no longer suffering. She leaves a void that will never be filled and a legacy of joy & cherished memories around all who knew her. She will live in our hearts forever.
