Charlotte Dorries-Cotten went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 13th 2016.Charlotte was born on June 5, 1939 in Aubrey, Texas. Growing up in Sherman, Texas Charlotte graduated from Sherman High School and moved to Dallas after her marriage to Bill Dorries.In 1964 they started an Electrical Contractor company that she continued to operate until her death. Charlotte is survived by current husband of 3 years, John Cotten, daughter Dianne Ellis and husband Kenneth, grandsons Devin Dorries and Phoenix Ellis, special niece Stacey Carter and husband Eric, along with special great nephews Kyle Carter and wife, Victoria (Mari) Carter and Austin Carter, stepson John Allen Cotton, stepdaughter Teresa Michelsen and husband Brian along with step grandchildren Connor, Lauren and Garrett Michelsen, sister Edith Miller and brother Lewis Thompson along with numerous nieces and nephews Preceding her in death was her husband of 53 years, Bill Dorries,sister Alyne Jones andbrother Tommy Thompson. She loved life and all those in it.First of all she loved the Lord, she was a good and faithful servant always living a Christian life.She was a member of Mimosa Lane Church in Mesquite, Texas.Charlotte as a mother, aunt and grandmother and wife was always putting the Lord first in her life.She loved her family immensely, loved to travel and always was ready to go places. Having family together for holidays or just a weekend get together was something she always looked forward to hosting. While there are countless good memories, she will be missed tremendously by all that knew her.Her smile and laughter are irreplaceable Visitation for all friends and family will be at New Hope Funeral Home 500 E.
