Charles Smith

Charles Ray Smith of Forney, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the age of 73.

He was born on February 22, 1951, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Leaman Wallace Smith and Martha Estelle (Carter) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carter and Elmo Smith; sister, Carolyn (Smith) Vann; and daughter, Carla Marie Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Cecy Smith of Forney, Texas; sister, Sharon Frazier; son, Charles Ray Smith, Jr.; 11 nieces and nephews; and 18 great-nieces and nephews.

Charles retired from the United States Air Force after 24 years of service with pride and distinction. He was an avid reader and could be found with a book in hand at all times.

Charles will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery in a private inurnment service.
