Charles Kropp

February 9, 1954 — July 2, 2024

Charles Lee Kropp, Rockwall, TX, passed away on July 2, 2024 after an unexpected diagnosis of Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be held at New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, Texas 6- 8pm on Tuesday, July 9th. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 10th at 10:00am at New Hope Funeral Home with Bob Carroll, Pastor presiding. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Lamar County in Paris, Texas.

Charles was born on 2-9-54 in Dallas, Texas to Clifton and Ruth Kropp. He graduated Charter Class from Skyline H.S., Dallas, where he met his future wife, Linda Walker. Charles worked with his dad on their farm in Paris, Tx and in many interesting jobs that taught him almost every skill a man could need to survive. Building everything from fires to fences and with his insatiable curiosity, Charles could figure a solution to most any challenge. Finally, he began working for Maintenance, Inc. of Dallas at an entry level job with energy and commitment that elevated him into the position of Partner & President for a division called Premium Maintenance, Inc. For 21 years & 7 months, this was his career where he consistently delivered the highest margins of all. After losing his wife to Lung Cancer, Charles intersected with a HS friend (& business competitor) he had known 50 years in 2021 on Memorial Day weekend.

One year later he and Rhonda were totally in love, retired, married & planned to travel, enjoy their blended families & spend time together.

Charles never met a person he could not talk to. He had a passion for people. If there were people in his space, there was some type of interaction, and typically a funny one. His humor never failed him, even in the most seriously ill days of his life. He had a knack for knowing exactly how to lighten a mood, or banter with the best of them (as he often did with bonus daughter, Jennifer!)

Charles was a great man, husband, dad, grandfather, father-in-law, friend, mentor and more. He continued to be involved in every activity those grandkids had to offer. When he couldn't, he anticipated the calls and the text message photos to still experience the thrill of their wins, losses & challenges. And holidays were bigger than life!

He often joked about how many days he was exceeding his "expiration date" that was delivered 2 weeks after the honeymoon! He passed the 6-month mark, passed 1 year with flying colors and enjoyed life as much as possible ~ 2 years and 2 weeks later he took his last breath here and his next in the arms of Jesus - healed for eternity!

Charles is survived by his wife, Rhonda Kropp, children Crystal Lee Paul, husband Michael Paul, and their children Landon, Lane and Loren of Forney; son Justin Lee Kropp, his wife Stephanie Kropp and children Addison, Logan, Josephine and James of Fate; bonus children Jennifer Krone, Jeff Krone, 4 bonus grands, Derrick, Brittany Jones, Mali & Ella Krone, brother Edward Kropp, wife Donna with nephews Michael and Danny, brother Timothy Kropp, wife Jeannie, along with numerous dearly loved family members and many, many wonderful friends.
