Charles Wayne Garner

GARNER, Charles of Mesquite born March 12, 1941, in Chelsea, OK; the son of Clyde and Margaret Garner.Charles was in the U. S. Air Force from 1959 to 1964, spending most of that time in France.On July 17, 1965 he married his loving wife, Esther Breese in Fort Wayne, IN. Charles moved his family to Mesquite, TX in 1971. Charles worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Mesquite, TX until his retirement December 15, 1995.He was an active member of the New Covenant Baptist Church and was there any time the doors were open.He welcomed everyone with open arms. Charles is survived by his wife of 49 years, Esther; children, Cindy & husband, Jarrod, Jeffrey & wife, Michelle, Mark & wife, Lecia;four grandchildren, Brianna, Brittany, Jordan and Courtney; 9 sisters and 3 brothers and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles was preceded in death by parents, brother and cousins. Service will be 10:00AM Tuesday July 8, 2014 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, TX. 75182. Visitation will be Monday evening at the funeral home from 5:00PM - 7:00PM.
