Obituary for Charles R. Brown Jr. October 13, 1944 – November 12, 2017 Charles “Charlie” Brown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully while at home on November 12, 2017.Charlie was born in Dallas, Texas on October 13, 1944.Charlie grew up in Forney, Texas and after school he enlisted in the United States Navy. Heserved for 7 years and fought in the Vietnam War.While stationed at Pearl Harbor in Oahu, Hawaii he met the love of his life Sally Walker.Seven days after they met Charlie proposed and they were married 6 months later on January 23, 1965 in Burbank, California.They made their home in Forney, Texas.Charlie’s career was with his family owned business that specialized in commercial cooking equipment and repair.He retired in 2008. Charlie and Sally then moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2011. Charlie is survived by his wife of 52 years Sally and his children, Chris Brown and wife Doree, Christy Crenshaw and husband Travis, Charla James and husband Marice and his special son/nephew Steven Walker.Grandchildren Shauna and Aaron Parker, Chris and Lauren Crenshaw, Taylor James, Quintin and Jordan James, Makynzie Calvert, Calyn Brown, Austin Brown, Mia James and Jada James.Great grandchildren Tycen James, Zoe Parker, Hadley Crenshaw and Leightyn James. Charlie is also survived by his brothers David Brown and wife Linda, George Brown and wife Marsha and Robert Brown.As well as many special cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Helen Fulps and Charles R. Brown Sr. A memorial service will be held at New Hope Funeral Home located at 500 US HWY 80 Sunnyvale, Texas on November 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.A reception and luncheon for all friends and family will be held after at the Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Forney, Texas.
