Cecil Earl Mackey went to be with his Lord and Savior on Aug. 2, 2017. Mr. Mackey was born on November 2, 1944, to Toy Earl and Shirley Mackey in Mineral Wells, TX. He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Sue Ann Mackey and his brother, Michael Mackey. He is survived by his new bride, Barbara Stroud Mackey of Mesquite, daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Kenny Barnett of Merit and Jennifer and Garon Baggett of Quinlan; son and daughter-in-law Clete and Laura Mackey of Frisco; thirteen grandchildren, Katey and husband Cody, Josh and wife Emma, Jay, Zach and fianc Krista, Justin and wife Crystal, Lane, Grace, Anna and Clay; and five great-grandchildren, Lacey, Corb, Kennedy, Mason and Jaxon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Mackey was founder and owner of Mackey Construction. He also made time to enjoy his hobby as a cattle rancher for many years. He faithfully served as an elder and deacon at The Vale, Sunnyvale First Baptist Church in Sunnyvale, TX. Mr. Mackey was a strong advocate for the Mesquite community volunteering wherever he could. He loved his family generously and will be missed by all. The family will receive friends in the Chapel at New Hope Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will take place Monday, August 7, 2017, at 10 a.m. at The Vale, Sunnyvale First Baptist Church. 3018 N. Beltline Rd. Sunnyvale, Texas. The burial will take place at New Hope Funeral Home immediately following Monday’s service.
