Cathy Lee Merimon was born in Dallas, Texas on a brisk fall evening on November 12, 1957 to parents Lee Roy Merimon and Velma Maurine Killingsworth. She entered into rest In the presence of her devotedly loving husband on the warm morning of August 16, 2022 at 64 years young.
She valued family and she was passionately in love with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Cathy worked in healthcare providing administrative support for more than two decades serving families and children with special needs for many years at Baylor Our Children's House located in Dallas, TX.
Cathy & DeWayne married on May 17, 1974, in the presence of 200 family and friends in a formal church ceremony at Fairmeadows Baptist Church in Duncanville, Texas. They have shared more than 48 years filled with trials, tragedies, and triumphs Despite many turbulent winds they victoriously planted a steadfast love. They created a family three bearing an abundance of fruit including two strong willed daughters, four feisty granddaughters, and two spicy great grandsons.
Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Maurine; her step-mother Mary; brother (Bubba) Terry Merimon; her son Jason DeWayne; and grandson London Reznicek. She is survived by her husband Dewayne Watts of Crandall, Texas; her daughters, Tonya and husband Ron Stover of Forney, Texas; Kristin and husband Kevin Bridenbaugh of McKinney, Texas; Step-Daughter, Brennan Tice of Austin, Texas; Her sister, Sherrie and husband Phil Marini of Celeste, Texas; Her brother, Gary and wife Rebecca Merimon of Allen, TX; Granddaughters Taylor, Tatum, Phoenix and Addison; Grandsons by marriage Jeremy Christian; Michael, Will, and Aj Bridenbaugh; Great-grandsons Maverick and Witten; a host of extended family, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cathy evoked a glow that could light up an entire room with her presence and ignite a fire in the hearts of those around her. She was known for her unique flair, animated personality, originality, class, charm, quick-wit, eclectic style, exquisite taste, eccentric creativity, entertaining perspective, infectious laughter, and her ability to create or tame a whirlwind of chaos and shenanigans!
She was a bold leader known for being courageous, brave, fiery, fierce, independent, and strong. She was very rich soul and a deep thinker exceedingly compassionate towards the helpless, and very tenderhearted towards the weak. She had a special heart for children, the elderly, the disabled, and animals. She was FEARLESSLY protective of her family and those that she loved.
