Catherine Dawson of Sunnyvale, born August 7, 1926, passed away November 11, 2008. Preceded in death by parents, David & Agnes Dawson; brothers, Bill & Jim Dawson. Survived by sister, Joanna Adrian; nephews, Ian & Janet Adrian, John & Jean Dawson, David & Pam Dawson, Jim & Linda Dawson; sister-in-law, Kathleen Dawson, and severalgreat nieces and nephews. Born August 7, 1926 in Lochore, Scotland. In 1944 she joined the British Red Cross and served with the Royal Army medical corps at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. After coming to the United States she worked for 18 years with the United Kingdom Mission to the United Nations in New York City, NY. Catherine moved to Huntington, Long Island New York where she was a secretary for the old First Presbyterian Church for 10 years. In 1986 Catherine moved to Ormond Beach Florida with her sister Joanna and brother- in- law Joe Adrian. She worked as a secretary for the Christ Presbyterian Church. In 1997 she moved to Garland, Texas to be closer to her nephew Ian Adrian and his family. Catherine was a very creative person and enjoyed playing the piano, doing cross stitch, embroidery and painting. Later in life she developed a passion for the computer and often said she would have been a computer programmer if it had been available earlier in her life. Catherine was always a very giving person. She knitted blankets for project Linus and contributed to many animal foundations and organizations
