Born in Dallas, September 2, 1936, daughter of Ted And Faye Edwards Carter. Passed awayon April 2, 2005.She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Garrett Roberts VanDerMiller and their son, David Allen VanDerMiller. Survived by their daughter, Monica Leigh VanDerMiller, daughter-in-law, Susan Strickland VanDerMiller and two granddaughters, Ashley and Catherine. Carole Lynn enjoyed many activities including gardening, crafts, oil painting, floral arranging and camping.She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing.She was a den mother and Scout Leader for David.She had wonderful sense of humor.She was courageous with her illness and was more concerned about her caregivers than herself. In addition to her immediate family, Carole Lynn is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Carter of Carrollton, sister Gloria Jean Gass of San Antonio, sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth Ann and Gary Oates of Fairfield and Donna Gay and Wayne Knowles of Garland, and brother and sister-in-law Glenn Wayne and Julia Carter of Dallas.Carole also is remembered by 17 nieces and nephews and 29 great nieces and nephews, many loving friends and neighbors especially Martha and Danny Kellogg and Betty Myers. A special thanks to Sharon, Kayla and Jana for very loving care they gave to Carole and to Cameron for her sweet cheerful spirit that she shared so easily. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 5 from 6 - 8 PM at the New Hope Funeral Home Services will be held 2:30PM Wednesday, April 6 at the Eastridge Park Christian Church,2701 Town East Blvd. Mesquite with Rev Dan Carroll and Pastor John Livaudais presiding. Internment will be in Mesquite City Cemetery.
