BENTLEY, Carol Lyn (Skinner)
passed away November 18, 2024. She was born December 21, 1934, in Temple, Texas., and raised in Hillsboro, Texas. She graduated from Hillsboro High School and attended one year at TSCW (now TWU) majoring in Secretarial Science. Carol came to Dallas in 1953 to begin her working years and retired in 1996. She married Melvin M. Bentley in 1957 and was a member of Pathways Fellowship. She worked for Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church and Northlake Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Samuel Skinner, Sr. and Margery Dale (Lawrence) Skinner; brother, Benjamin Samuel Skinner, Jr.; husband of 60 years, Melvin Marcus Bentley, Sr.; and son, Benjamin Kyle Bentley.
She is survived by her sons Melvin M. (Mark) Bentley, Jr. and wife (Debbie) and Brian Douglas Bentley; daughter, Kendra Dale (Bentley) Parker; grandchildren, Melvin M. (Marcus) Bentley, III and Chance James Parker; step-grandchildren Matt Mann and wife Stephanie, Melissa (Mann) Isas, and Megan (Mann) Eustes and husband, Wes; and eight great-grandchildren. Also nephew, Ben S. Skinner, III and wife, Nancy, and daughter; and niece Sharon Leigh (Skinner) Kane, and husband, Mark, and children.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 from 2-4 PM at New Hope Funeral Home located at 500 East Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, TX. 75182
Graveside Service will be held at Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery on Monday, November 25th, 2024 at 11:30 AM.
