Carmen Michelle Gonzalez (Fletcher), beloved daughter and friend, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 6, 2024 at the age of 34.
Michelle was born February 26, 1990 in Dallas, Texas. She attended Mesquite High School and graduated with highest honors in her class of 2008. She continued her education at the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
She worked as a Crime Scene Analyst for the Dallas Police Department for almost 10 years working alongside detectives. Her laser focus in collecting evidence assisted in solving many crimes. Michelle was a foodie and enjoyed cooking, crafting, horror movies, haunted houses, traveling and had a true sense of adventure. Spending time with her friends and family was her top priority.
Those who knew her remember her beautiful smile, laugh and her unique, witty sense of humor. They describe her as kind-hearted, funny and creative.
Michelle is preceded in death by grandparents, CJ Cato and Jerry Mayo; great-grandmother, Carmen Vasquez; great-grandfather, Apolinar Vasquez; uncle, Kevin Mayo; aunt, Irasel Gonzalez; and godmother, Gillis Martinez.
Michelle is survived by her father, Gilbert Gonzalez; mother, Lisa Miller and husband Randy; brother, Kristofer Gonzalez and wife Sanam Shekarchi; brother, Scott Miller and; wife Maddie; brother, Evan Gonzalez; grandparents, Amelia Cato, Maria Salazar, and Wanda Mayo; aunts, Robin Glidewell and husband Jeff, and Melissa Mayo; uncles, Jesus Gonzalez, Charles Cato and wife Laura, and Bobby Cato; numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins. Michelle was a devoted YaYa to her nephew David Miller and nieces Molly Gonzalez-Shekarchi and Lylla Miller.
The family of Michelle would like to extend sincere thanks to officer John H. Lumbley and the Dallas Police Department for their support.
In honor of her love and passion for children, donations can be made in her honor to The Boys & Girls Club of America and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
