Carla June Pipes was blessed to Eldon Jesse Pipes Sr. and Cindy Elizabeth Pittman on March 23, 1963 in San Diego, California.She was raised in a military family and lived in various states including Alabama, Florida, Washington, California, Louisiana and Texas. Carla's mother instilled in her the importance of having faith in God and also having a personal relationship with Him. She came to know the Lord at a young age and lived her life according to God's word.She touched many people through her magnetic personality and true genuine love and concern for others. She graduated from high school in Hammond, Louisiana and was very active at Abundant Life Church, serving in the choir, music & drama ministries.She received a bachelors degree in Communications from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. In 1986, she married and gave birth to her only child Crystal Janelle Matthews. In 1991, a job promotion moved Carla and her daughter to Dallas, Texas where she became a member of Metro South Winds Fellowship (formerly Faith Family Fellowship).She continued being active in the church serving as choir director and drama coordinator for many years while touching the lives of everyone she met along the way. Carla was offered a job promotion and relocated to California.She eagerly accepted this new opportunity and quickly adapted to her new surroundings.She became a member of Jubilee Christian Center where she was very active in the choir and assisted in wedding coordination.For the past 5 years, she worked as a Senior Executive Assistant at the corporate headquarters of Intuit, Inc in Mountain View, California. She was preceded in death by her father Eldon Jesse Pipes Sr. Her memories will continue to be celebrated by her loving mother, Cindy Elizabeth Pipes; her daughter, Crystal Janelle Matthews; her sister, Carol Pipes Nedd; her two brothers, Eric James Pipes and Eldon Jesse Pipes Jr; her nieces, Candice Olivia Allen and Mi'ya Nichole Nedd; her nephew, Robert Lee Allen III; her brother-in-law, Ronald Lee Nedd;her grandmother, Mary A. Bell; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends all of who loved her so much. We will all remember Carla for her wonderful smile, outgoing personality and the lasting positive effects she left with everyone she'd come in contact with.She was a friend to all who met her and the world is a better place because of the lives she touched.
