Calvin Ell Curtis,

CURTIS, Jr., Calvin Ell , 83, passed away April 11, 2010. He was born on December 22, 1926 in Cave City, Arkansas. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 1992 after 42 years of service. He was a former member of Liberty Baptist Church-Dallas and a current member of Friendship Baptist Church-Mesquite. Calvin is preceded in death by parents, Calvin Sr. and Beulah Curtis; brother, Bill Curtis and daughter, Phyllis Kyser. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruby Curtis of Mesquite, Texas; daughter, Cherle Collier of Glendale, Arizona; daughter, Twila Green and husband, Greg of Bradenton, Florida; son-in-law, Gary Kyser of Sunnyvale, Texas; grandchildren, Keri Burke, Amy Gafford, Lori Garrett, Nathasha Green, Taylor Green, Connie Gordon and Bill Collier; numerous great-grandchildren and his extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 10:00AM at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, Texas 75182 with Pastor Bob Whitten officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Dallas Visiting Nurses Association-Hospice Care, 1440 W. Mockingbird Ln. # 500, Dallas, TX. 75247.
