Boyce B. Trammell, age 89, of Sunnyvale, TX, passed away May 25, 2020 at his home. He was born January 24, 1931 in Durant, OK to George Jefferson Trammell and Maud Ethel Foster Trammell.. Boyce proudly defended his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He married Phyllis Carolyn Ely on March 21, 1987.Boyce was a welder and was owner and President of B.B. Trammell & Co. Inc.for approximately 17 years. He was a member of Sunnyvale First Baptist Church. He began teaching a Sunday School class for Singles at the church and taught the class for approximately 12 years. After he resigned from teaching the class, the members tried three times to convince him to return as their teacher. Boyce realized there was no one to help visitors who came to the church so, as the Singles Class Teacher, he started a Church Greeter Program staffed by members of the Singles Class. One member of that original Singles class continues to greet visitors each Sunday now. Boyce worked with various Sheetmetal, Steel, Tank companies over the years. While working full-time, he also served as a Texas Alcohol and Narcotics Education Speaker. He also became a Licensed Realtor in 1971. Boyce was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Ronny Trammell and Randy Trammell; brothers, Russell, James M., Harmon, Harold, Horace, Norris and George D.; and sisters, Winnie McGehee and his twin sister, Joyce Rose. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carolyn; sister, Maud Lena Smith of Washougal, WA.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Sunnyvale First Baptist Church, 3018 N Belt Line Rd, Sunnyvale, TX, with Dr. Charles Wilson, Dr. James Trammell and Rev. Billie Brewer. A gathering of family and friends will precede the service from 9:00-10:00 AM.Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point. Pallbearers will be Mike Trammell, David Houston, George Rose, Ray Trammell, James Whitmire, Roger Luke and Eddie Luke.Honorary Pallbearers will be Warren Rose, Sam Trammell, Stanley Trammell, Alvin Trammell, Roy McGehee, Henry Allen, Rick Lloyd, Randy Lloyd and Rusty Lloyd.
