Bobby Dwain Womack

August 25, 1932 — February 11, 2023

Bobby Dwain "Bob" Womack passed calmly and peacefully from this life at his home on February 11, 2023. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and friends throughout this last chapter of his life. Bob was born on August 25, 1932, in Gordonville, Texas and grew up in and around the Sandy community of Bonham. After serving in the Army in the 11th Armed Cavalry Regiment, Bob moved to Dallas to work at the Dallas Ford Plant. On August 30, 1956, Bob married Nora Louise "Lisa" Day. From the early 1960's until the early 1970's Bob was an "Owner-Operator" of "Womack's Gulf" located at the corner of Buckner and Elam in Pleasant Grove. Bob worked for Texas Bitulithic (APAC) from the early 1970's until his retirement. Bob and Lisa lived and raised their three children in Pleasant Grove before they moved to the Post Oak Bend Community near Kaufman, Texas in 1991 where they lived the remainder of their lives.

Bob is survived by his children and their spouses, Karen and Joe McSpadden, Karla and Tim Powell, and Dwain and Judy Womack; his seven grandchildren and their spouses and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three siblings and eight brother and sisters-in-law; Kenneth and Shirley Womack, Paula Smith, Lou Ann Meek, Ricky Womack, Jack Day, Wanda Whitling; Cecil and Eva Day; and David and Judy Day. There are also nieces, nephews, honorary grandchildren and countless adopted family members too numerous to count.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Nora Louise "Lisa" Day Womack, his father John P. Womack, his mother Letha Marie Meek, and his siblings James Womack, Jean Womack, Gerald Meek, Mary Cooley, Billy Bob Womack, and Ray (Butch) Meek.
