Bobby Ray Thomas

Bobby Ray Thomas, born May 6, 1934 in Dallas, Texas went home to be with The Lord.He passed away peacefully on June 29, 2019.He was surrounded by family. Bobby attended Maple Lawn School in Dallas, then went on to graduate at Pleasant Grove High School in 1951, also in Dallas.After high school, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served from 1954-1956.He completed boot camp at Fort Bliss at the Texas/New Mexico border.Then he went on to be stationed in Germany.After the service, Bobby returned home and started to work at the Simmons Mattress Company in Dallas, alongside his Dad.He left Simmons in 1963 and went to work at Texas Instruments in Richardson, TX. Where he stated until retirement in 1996 with only a brief period of time when he left and went to work at Paris Janitorial Supply in Paris, Tx. with his older brother Eugene.Ten years before his retirement, Bobby went to work delivering the Dallas Morning News early morning until 2016, at the age of 81. Bobby is preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Diane Chandler of Forney; father, Dewey Lee Thomas; mother, Oney Mae Thomas of Dallas; brothers: Grady Dowell Thomas of Holly Lake, Eugene Jackson Thomas of Paris; sisters: Cecelia Mae Jones, Cora Lee Richeson of Dallas, Norma LaDean Pitts of Forney, Mary Francis Baty of Dallas and Della Carice Thomas of Cumberland, Ok. Bobby is survived by his wife, Lena Pauline Thomas of Forney, Tx.; son, Kevin Lee Thomas and wife Tricia, Jett Michael Thomas; granddaughters: Kacie Lee Thomas, Landrie Raylee Thomas, Rebecca Dawn Kearby, Katherine Elizabeth Haley; grandson, Jeremy Dale Chandler and wife Tina; great grandchildren: Payton Eric Chandler, Shanna Brianna Seay, Kristen Renee Maldonado, Sky Renee Maldonado all of Forney, Texas; granddaughter, Marlee Diane Taylor and husband Josh; great grandchildren: Connor Dale Chandler and Brennen Taylor all of Allen, Tx; sisters: Betty Ruth Travis of Forney, Tx. and sister-in-law Nancy Rae Thomas of Katy, Tx.
