Bobby Perkins

August 31, 1957 — September 10, 2023

Bobby Ray Perkins was born on August 31, 1957 in Dallas, TX, to Noel Perkins and Anna Perkins. He was the middle son and grew up in Mesquite. Bobby was a proud Skeeter alumni, as he graduated from Mesquite High School in 1976.

Bobby had 3 children, which were his pride and joy, Brandon Perkins, Paige Perkins, Peyton Perkins.

Bobby adored being a Pops to his grandchildren, Braydon Perkins and Wilder Woodruff, and was excited for another grandbaby on the way.

Bobby attended the Dallas County Cowboy Church with his parents regularly. Bobby was best known for his love of the game of baseball and being one of the best umpires. He was always a perfectionist when it came to the game he loved and was always sure to be fair and precise on his calls. He wanted to ensure each ball player had the same love for the game he had. He also was known for his passion for fishing, it was all he wanted to do in his spare time. Bobby was a happy go lucky guy who wanted all to have a good time. Bobby loved to make any and everyone smile, even in his darkest days. He always said his goal was to make everyone he came in to contact leave with smile. Bobby had been battling prostate cancer since his diagnoses in 2019, and boy, did he put up a fight.

Bobby was called to his eternal home with the Lord on September 10, 2023, at the age of 66 years old, in his home in Mesquite, TX.

Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Noel Wayne Perkins.

Bobby is survived by his mother Ann Perkins, son Brandon Perkins, daughters, Paige Perkins and Peyton Perkins, grandsons, Braydon Perkins and Wilder Woodruff, brothers, Michael Perkins and Rick Perkins and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

Bobby's visitation is scheduled for September 29th, 2023 from 1 pm to 2 pm, with his memorial service to follow at 2 pm, both at New Hope Funeral Home.
