Bobbie June Ward Stone, 95, passed away on February 14, 2024, in Huntsville, Texas. She was born on June 13, 1928 in Fox, Oklahoma to Hays and Nora Ward.
Bobbie graduated from Fox High School in 1946. She then moved to Dallas, Texas and started her career as a telephone operator in 1947. After many other wonderful jobs, she ended her career as a successful real estate broker for over 30 years.
Bobbie married George Stone on October 15, 1949 in Dallas, Texas. The couple had 3 children, Karen Edwards, Janet Ingram, and Ben Stone.
Bobbie was best known for her love of church, family and friends. She sang in various church choirs all of her life. She also participated in the POPS Choir, Women's Missionary Union, Eastern Star, and Christian Women's Job Corp, where she not only served on the board, but was also a mentor. Bobbie played on several tennis leagues, in both singles and doubles.
Bobbie is survived by daughter, Janet Ingram and husband David; son, Ben Stone; brother, Jimmy Ward; grandsons, John Edwards, Mike Edwards, Jeff Ingram, Chris Ingram, Stephen Ingram, Morgan Stone, Jordan Stone, and Ryan Stone; granddaughters, Dawn Adcock, and Jennifer Chalker; as well as 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson, and many other family and friends.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents, Hays and Nora Ward; husband, George Stone; daughter, Karen Edwards and husband Robert; sister, Lavina Beth Ward; brother, Brad Ward; sister, Bette Fuller; sister, Nora Garrison; sister, Nelda Keck; brother, Danny Ward; sister, Sarah Camp; and parents-in-law, George and Dorothy Stone.
The service for Bobbie Stone will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
Visitation will be prior to the funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
Burial will be at Sparkman-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
Memorial donations can be made in Bobbie's name to Christian Women's Job Corp - Flo Campbell Center.
