Blenda Fennell Davidson, 80, of Mesquite, Texas passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, under the care of Angel Hospice and in the presence of family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She was born in Gilmer, Texas in 1942 and graduated from Gilmer High School enjoying many class reunions throughout the years. After attending Kilgore College, she lived in Longview, Texas, and served as a Gregg County extension agent. In the 1980's she had a successful career as an insurance agent and she was the leading agent for Independent Life Insurance company for several years and was promoted to winning leading manager for the company in 1988. In 1990, she became an independent insurance agent and opened her own office in Tyler, Texas.
Upon her retirement, she moved to Mesquite, Texas. She was an excellent seamstress and worked part time for Thomas Sewing Center teaching others her craft. She entered many of her crafts into competitions at the state fair of Texas and won several ribbons throughout the years. In addition to sewing and monogramming, Blenda loved travel and spending time with friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Alma Ruth Fennell of Gilmer, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, William B. Davidson; her daughter, Andrea Gohmert and husband Bill Gohmert; her sister, Charlotte McSpadden; and grandchildren, Elizabeth and Daniel Gohmert.
A memorial inurnment service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023 at New Hope Memorial Gardens in Sunnyvale, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages a donation to the Callier Center for Communication Disorders in Dallas, Texas or the charity of their choice.
