Billy Joe Sanders

Billy Joe Sanders, was born March 2, 1932 in Crete, Trinity County, Texas and died on April 30, 2018 in Terrell, Texas.He moved to the Dallas area in 1956 and married Frances Earlene Hardisty on June 7, 1957.Billy proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal of the Calvary 1st Division Seventh Regiment during the Korean War in Korea and Japan from 1949 - 1953.He retired from Garland Power and Light as a Plant Engineer in 1993 after 31 years of service.After his retirement, Billy enjoyed genealogy research tracing his family history back to 1572 in England.He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Lonie Gertrude Hawthorne and Clyde Zachary Maley, father Aaron Earl Sanders, sister Joyce Lamuriel Shivers and twin brother Bobby Ray Sanders.He is survived by his wife Frances, daughter, Karen Mathis and son-in-law, Gaylan of Forney; two grandsons, Christopher Mathis and fiance' Sandie Collins of Forney; Loren Mathis and wife Tanya of Rowlett, four great grandchildren, Makayla and Makenzie Mathis (his Little M&M's); Calllie (his Little Sweetie Pie) and Callen Mathis (his Little Man); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
