August 22,1919 - September 2, 2009 Born and raised on a cotton farm, Bill Hamilton grew up during the "Great Depression" and the "New Deal". He went on to attain a masters' degree and the rank of USAF Lieutenant Colonel. One of his favorite memories was meeting Jimmy Stewart on the base in New Mexicoduring the night shift change. Bill then went into the private sector, serving as head coach, then high school principal in Kaufman, Texas. Millie was always the light of his life. Taking her and his three children to Dallas, he embarked on a 25 year career with Hunt Oil Company. He became a ranch manager in Colorado, then a ranch overseer. He was flying back from a cattle ranch in Australia in 1969 when he saw the re-entry of the Apollo astronauts' space capsule from the moon. Bill leaves many friends and family members who will miss him greatly. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Millie, his three children, Frederick Hamilton and wife Esther, Marla Hamilton Webster and husband Gary McGowan, and Mark Hamilton and wife Betsy. His six loving grandchildren include Blake Webster and wife Jenny, Brooke Webster,Matthew Hamilton, Rebecca Webster, Scott Hamilton, and David Hamilton. His two great-grandchildren are William and Georgia Webster. In his retirement, he and Millie took their dream cruise to Alaska. They deserved it. They had worked tirelessly to put their three children through Southern Methodist University, and for that we are eternally grateful. We love you Daddy. We will miss you. We will take good care of Millie. Service will be 1:30PM Saturday September 6, 2009 at New Hope Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:30PM to 1:30PM.
