Billy Ray Elliott of Forney, born May 19, 1949, passed away July 22, 2018.Billie grew up inthe Rylie area of Dallas.Graduated from H. Grady Spence High School in 1967.Served his country in 1968 - 1970.Billie retired from Dallas Morning News after 37 years. He married Sherry in November 1971. Preceded in death by father, Glenn Elliott.Survived by wife of 46 years, Sherry Elliott; son, Michael C. Elliott; grandchild, ChaneyD. Elliott; parents, Lenora Massey Elliott; brother, Charles Elliott; his rescue dog, "Lucy" on good days, "Lucille" on bad days; numerous nieces and nephews.Service will be 2:00PM Wednesday July 25, 2018 at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, 500 E. Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, TX. 75182.Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00PM - 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Youth Ministry of Talty Baptist Church, 5210 N.
