OBITUARY FOR BILLIE JUANITA KEARNEY WILKERSON Billie Juanita Kearney was born on June 13, 1934 in New Hope, Texas to William Dee Kearney and Vivian Odell Rice and was the 1st of their 4 children.She graduated from Mesquite High School in 1952.She passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 in her home less than 2 miles from her old high school. Billie married L.A. Wilkerson, Jr. in August 1953 and they had 4 children together in the 1st 5 years of marriage.She was a busy mom for many years.She also worked for many years for Garland ISD in their school cafeterias and eventually became cafeteria manager.After retirement both Billie and L.A. moved to Red River County for several years and built a home on their 32 acres, but Billie was too socially active to stay in the country too long.She and L.A. moved back to Mesquite in the early 90s where they became active in 1st Assembly of God in Mesquite and then Christian Center of Mesquite, where Billie liked to compete with the other ladies to see who was the best cook. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, and her youngest sister, Sammie Lou Sealy, and her granddaughter, Brittany Wilkerson. Billie is survived by her four children: Patty Wilkerson; Sharon Good and her husband, Ralph; Curtis Wilkerson Sr.; and Bradley Wilkerson and his wife, Elizabeth (Liz), as well as her sister, Patsy Fain and her brother, David Kearney. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren: Ronnie Berger, Sandra Spence, Timothy Good, Daniel Good, Sarah Knight, Ashley Box, Curtis Wilkerson, Jr., Bethany Wilkerson, Adam Wilkerson, William Wilkerson, and Justin Wilkerson.She also has 7 great grandchildren as well as 2 step great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be 6 of her 7 grandsons: Ronnie Berger, Timothy Good, William Wilkerson, Justin Wilkerson, Curtis Wilkerson, Jr. and Adam Wilkerson.
