Billie Ray Baccus, 87, went home to be with our Lord, August 6, 2016, after a long illness with Alzheimer’s and other complications.He was born March 4, 1929.He was born to G. C. Baccus and Ollie B. Norwood in Teague, Texas.He Married Jean Cromer Baccus after high school in 1946 in Sulphur Springs, Texas.They had four (4) children. Preceded him in death was Paula Ruth Baccus, Larry Gene Baccus, and Patricia Ann Baccus Joyce. Survivors are his loving wife, Jean Baccus, his daughter, Beverly Baccus Perry and fianc, Billy White, and his sister, Dorothy Ragan and son-in-law, Lynn Joyce.He had nine (9) Grandchildren:Leon Baccus and wife Brandi; Lisa Baccus Stovall and husband Orren; Kristie Baccus; Cheryl Wooldridge; Billy Bob Callaway; April Swanner; Melissa Kessler and husband James; Steffanie Edinbyrd and husband Jeff; Jami Vea and husband, Matthew Vea.He had twenty (20) Great Grandchildren and three (3) Great-Great Grandchildren. He was ordained to preach the Gospel in 1958 at Miller Road Baptist Church in Garland, Texas.He was a Soul Winner and a Prayer Warrior.He served as pastor for five (5) years at Fisher Road Baptist Church and Associate Pastor for many years.He was a glazier until his retirement and then he started a bowling business, B&J Pro Shop until 2007.He attended school in Orange, Texas and Sulphur Springs High School, in Sulphur Springs, Texas.He attended Open Door Baptist School.He was a veteran in the Air Force.Just so you know, HE LOVED TO BOWL, and was very good at it (having bowled a couple of perfect games). Many thanks go to the Hospice team and to our daughter and granddaughters for taking care of their Dad and Pepa. Services for Billie will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at Seagoville Road Baptist Church, located at 11524 Seagoville Rd, Balch Springs, TX 75180, with Pastor, Dr. Preston Henderson officiating and Associate Pastor, J. P. Reid.Visitation will be at New Hope Funeral Home, located at 500 U.S. 80 Frontage Rd, Sunnyvale, TX 75182, Thursday, August 11, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. to8:00 p.m.Interment will be at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park, located at 12649 Lake June Rd., Mesquite, Texas 75180.In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Seagoville Road Baptist Church.Pallbearers will be:Matthew Vea, Jeff Edinbyrd, James Kessler, Trent Wooldridge, Lynn Joyce, and Billy White.
